2019 VetCPD Congress Lectures
Cardiology for Veterinary Nurses.
Jo will focus on cardiac auscultation and examination in the pre-anaesthetic patient and the common abnormalities which may be encountered. A summary of common relevant diseases will be covered to help guide the diagnostic approach in these patients, and aid in pre-anaesthetic decision making.
Teaching old dogs new tricks: An update on mitral valve disease.
Jo will review degenerative mitral valve disease, the most common cardiac disease encountered in our veterinary patients. A practical approach to both diagnosis, staging and management will be discussed, including both newer surgical options and the evidence base for medical therapy from some of the largest and most influential veterinary clinical trials to date.
